realm3: web applications

Brian Dailey - Independent Consultant - New York

At Waffle Way in Dallas, Texas

My Background

When I was 12 my parents bought my first computer - a Packard Bell 386 with 2 MB of RAM. It was running MS-DOS 5.0 and I spent hours in the DOS "help" file learning to write batch scripts, modifying config.sys and autoexec.bat, and writing QBASIC games.

Once I was introduced to the Internet in 1998 I immediately began creating web pages, and eventually started a small nice community site for teenagers.

At 17 I got my first professional programming position, working with a company that provided electronic medical records for dermotology and dermatopathology jobs.

What I Do Now

I have a broad range of experience in the information technology world - *nix system administration, network installation and maintenance, application deployment, and, of course, software development in multiple languages (I started with C and Pascal, but quickly moved on to Java and later PHP).

Services I Provide

As a consultant in New York, I often work with customers that have a very small IT department. These customers rely on me to provide them with advice on software choices, implementation, project specifications, deciding on vendors, and a multitude of other tasks. Occasionally I will create a custom application for a customer from the ground up.

On other projects I serve as a contractor to provide aid to projects: new projects, old projects, on-going projects, whatever they may be.
